Fort Fisher Historic Park

Fort Fisher Historic Park, the last stronghold of the South, is the largest earthwork fortification of the Civil War. A museum of artifacts takes you back to when the land was raw. A slide show tells of the blockade-runners and the role that the Cape Fear River played in the Battles of Fort Fisher. Also featuring a recreation area on the Atlantic Ocean with four miles of undeveloped beaches. Also available is a public beach access with bathrooms, snack bar and showers.
